On Sunday the 4th of May 2008, Dr. Idris H. Salih, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a meeting with deans of Engineering and Technical Colleges of Kurdistan Universities.

On Sunday, 20th April 2008, under the auspice of H.E Dr. Idris H. Salih, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the 5th Ministries assembly meeting, 2008, was held in the presence of all assembly members.

On Thursday, 3rd April 2008, by the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Idris H. Salih, the Manager of Korean KOIKA Organization, Mr. Kim Yong Kew, the Korean General Consul in Kurdistan, Mr. Ko Yong Joe, and deans, instructors and students of Suleimanyah University; an opening ceremony of 3 Sound Laboratories and a Seminar Room, provided by the Korean Organization (KOIKA) was held.

On Thursday, 3rd April 2008, Dr. Idris H. Salih, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and accompanying delegation visited The American University in Suleimanyah and were warmly received by the president of the university, Dr. John Agresto.
